Statues by Angela Johnson

Last year in Oakland, California, I had the privilege of going to see a collection of statues by Angela Johnson that depict the miracles performed by Jesus Christ.  They were quite impressive and I was struck with amazement as to the emotive feel of each sculpture.  When I got home, I searched and found an e-mail address for Sister Johnson and e-mailed her suggesting she arrange to display the statues in Palmyra.

I was recently surprised when I saw her display was here in Palmyra.  Elizabethe and I plan to make that our Family Home Evening for tonight — to go see the statues.  (Elizabethe has not seen them yet.)

You can see them at her web site at http://www.ajsculptures.com/

The floor of the dry house has cured.  Although I could probably walk on it, I’ll wait until Wednesday before walking on it.  I have no time tonight or tomorrow, so why risk it.  I’ll make sure it is good and solid.

My morning walk today was behind the house along the Erie Canal trail.  It was quite warm for this time of year.  I didn’t even have to zip my jacket.  I’ll post some photos later tonight.

Elizabethe enjoyed the statues.  The are quite impressive.  If you get the chance to see them in person, and you should do so.

Here are some pictures from my morning walk along the Erie Canal:
